Jessica's Amazing Pumpkin Cookies

Iced Pumpkin Cookies
1 c. shortening
½ c. sugar½ c. brown sugar
1 ½ t. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 t. baking powder
¼ t. baking soda
1 egg
1 c. canned pumpkin
2 c. flour

Combine shortening, brown sugar and white sugar. Mix. In separate bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and pumpkin pie spice. Add egg to butter/sugar mixture. Mix. Alternate adding pumpkin and flour to the butter/sugar/egg untill all is combined. Bake 375° for 8-10 minutes. They appear undercooked compared to most cookies. Cool completely then frost.
Icing:
Heat and melt completely...
½ c. brown sugar
3 T. butter
1 T. milk
Add
1 c. powder sugar
1 t. vanilla

Getting to know you

Jessica Beaumont was born on November 12 1986. She met her husband Hunter at BYU freshman orientation. They were married in the San Diego Temple on February 12, 2009. She is working at orchard park care center in Orem and graduated from BYU in therapeutic recreation and gerontology. Her favorite thing to do is cook. Her favorite place to eat I s Macaroni Grill. Her favorite dessert is cheesecake. Some of her hobbies include reading, crafts, and cooking. Her perfect weekend would be at the beach with family. In her spare time she likes to spend time with Hunter. She wishes she could exercise more often. Her greatest blessing is marriage. Getting to know you

Kara Morgan was born on June 13, 1986. She met her husband Clark in their singles ward at BYU. They were married in the Timpanogos Temple on February 17, 2007. Their funniest memory about getting married is the Kara accidently at her piece of cake instead of feeding it to Clark. She also had milk fountains instead of water or juice because she loves milk. She is a stay at home mom. She has one son named Jonathan and says she has a few more spirit children. She graduated from BYU in exercise science. Her favorite thing to do is hang out with family and watch American Idol and Biggest Loser. Her favorite place to eat is noodles and company and she loves their macaroni and cheese dish. For fun and for hobbies she likes to try a new recipe, play piano, and scrapbook. Her perfect weekend would be going out to dinner, a walk with her husband and a movie. In her spare time she likes to read and blog. She wishes she could sleep more. When asked if she could choose her calling she said she loves being in the ward choir with her husband right now.

Getting to Know you

Elycia Birks was born on September 28, 1989. She met her husband Chip when she saw his curly brown hair and thought he was cute, she then Facebook stalked him, met him at classic skating and pretended that she didn’t know anything about him. They were married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on January 2, 2009. The funniest memory about their wedding was they got two cardboard cutouts of John Mc Cain and they put their brother’s faces on them because they were on missions. She currently works at the hospital doing registration in the ER. She is also currently in school. She likes to ballroom dance. She would describe herself as a spazz and her husband would describe her as chatty. Her favorite place to eat is Los Hermanos and loves the shredded beef taco and the specialty drinks. For dessert she likes anything without nuts. Her hobbies include ballroom, reading, and talking. For fun she likes to play games or watch movies with family. Her perfect weekend would be a family reunion. In her spare time she likes to nap or read. She wishes she could eat better. Her greatest blessing is a huge extended family that lives pretty close. If she could choose her calling it would be to be called to the primary. Her favorite story is the on of the Prodigal son.

Jolene Ehlers

Jolene Ehlers was born on August 20. She met her husband Robert their freshman year at BYU they were in the same ward. They were married December 19,2008 in the Washington D.C. Temple. She is working at a tanning salon and senior at BYU studying Sociology. Her favorite things to do are read, run and sing. She would describe herself as spunky or sarcastic and her husband would describe her as sarcastic. She loves to eat at Olive Garden and loves the fettucini alfredo or at Chilis and loves their Molten Chocolate Cake. Her favorite dessert is anything chocolate and peanut butter. One of her hobbies is scrapbooking. For fun she watches movies, plays games and reads books. Her perfect weekend would be thunderstorms all day wrapped in a blanket. She likes to take naps in her spare time. She wishes she could draw and cook more often. Her greatest blessing has been having a twin sister. If she could choose her calling it would be to teach. Her favorite scripture is the book of Romans.

Amy White

Amy White was born on August 8, 1985. She met her husband N. Adam White at their singles ward. They were in the same apartment complex. They were married in the LA Temple on May 28,2005. The funniest memory about getting married was on their way back from the temple there was a car chase on the free way, the guy jumped out of his car, copes chased and all traffic was stopped. Fortunately they made it to their luncheon on time. She is currently a TA for SFL 100. Also she is in school at BYU with FHL as her major and graduated in April. They are expecting their first baby girl in September. One of her favorite things to do is snowmobiling. She would describe herself as optimistic and he husband would describe her as stubborn. She likes to eat at Chili’s and loves their chips and salsa. Or at Sonic and loves their cream slushes. Her favorite dessert is strawberry shortcake. Her hobbies include sewing, cooking, baking and reading. For fun she likes to feed the ducks at the botany pond, fishing and cheering her husband at his many sports games. Her perfect weekend is hanging out at the family cabin. Her greatest blessing has been marrying Adam. Currently Amy is attending a singles ward where her husband Adam is in the bishopric. If she could choose her calling it would be Nursery for the treats. And her favorite scripture is Matt. 17:10.

Kerry Hill

Kerry Hill was born on November 11, 1985. She met her husband Brad through friends during high school. They dated long distance until Brad left on his mission to Provo, Utah (where she was going to school). Which then made it short distance but all the more far. They were married in the Portland Oregon Temple on April 11, 2008. She is working full time at BYU as the Civil Engineering Department Secretary. She graduated at BYU studying Home and Family living with an emphasis in Family Finance. One of her favorite things to do is being in the sunshine. Her husband would describe her as sweet because she is always smiling. Her favorite place to eat is Red Lobster and her favorite item is crab legs and their cheese biscuits. Her favorite dessert is cheesecake. For fun she watches movies and BBQ. Her perfect weekend is spending it in St. George biking, swimming, hiking and eating out. She wishes she could see their family more. In her spare time she likes to go on walks. Her greatest blessing has been growing up in and marrying into a wonderful family. If she could choose her calling it would be nursery.
